Coed y Gaer Morning. Oil painting
This derelict building on the top of an Iron Age Hill Fort was built by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn in the 19th century as a summer house or shooting lodge. It was castellated with locally quarried lime stone and must have been quite impressive on the top of a ridge. Now surrounded by woodland and almost inaccessible it is a romantic folly.
